About Hunt-N-Dogs Estates

Our favorite pets and hunting companions are our labrador retrievers.  As hunting is very special to those of us that have had the privilege to hunt with a good dog, we started by adding puppies to our labrador family.

We started Hunt-N-Dogs Estates with three yellow puppies in 1997 to pursue my love of raising and training top quality hunting retrievers.  Our labs also make great family companions, but if you are going to have a great family companion, they may as well be good hunting dogs at the same time.  We started our kennel with the best yellow and chocolate labrador pedigrees we could find.  We strongly believe that the better the pedigree, the better the chance that the pups we raise will demonstrate the qualities expressed in the pedigree!! We breed hunting dogs that LOVE-TO-HUNT!!  Our dogs are easily trained, have great temperaments, guaranteed excellent health (resident veterinary care 24 hours-a-day), and are a pleasure to live with since our dogs not only hunt, they are real members of our family.  In 1998 we added to our family by buying 5 puppies, and we added another young dog in 1999. We have been growing with more labrador puppies each year.  All of our dogs have been radiographed and certified free of hip dysplasia and have had a CERF examination.

Our first three puppies came from Kate, our grand matriarch and a daughter of FC-AFC Candlewoods M D Houston.  Kate is a wonderful family companion and a superb waterfowl dog, especially good on geese.  Kate was all heart and we will never forget the wonderful 15 years she was with us.  We will truly remember all of the good times going to the girls softball games, she would run along side our girls just like an athlete, and all the good duck and goose hunts.  Having her first and only litter of pups at age 8 took a lot out of her too. We kept 3 of Kate's pups - Monster, Amber, and Maddie and they  replaced our daughters after they all left for college.   She is a dog every man would be proud to own, a great family companion, wonderful around children, easy to train, listens well, and always wants to please.  She will live in our hearts, as well as everyone that met her at our daughters softball games, forever.

All of our puppies are whelped in our house and DottiePupsNita_Tricia.jpg (49469 bytes) socialized extremely well.  We spend a lot of time with the puppies, handling and cuddling them even before they open their eyes.  You really can't understand how important the socialization process is until you own a dog that wasn't!!  Nita and Tricia are pictured holding Dottie and Monster's black puppies after a Miami University softball game.

Our young ladies enjoy taking their Labrador's with them jogging and walking.
Annette and Jeremy took Maddie to the Columbus 26 Mile Marathon in October, 2002 to  help cheer on Tricia and Kristina.  Tricia owns Dottie and Kristina owns Kierra, a black lab from Dottie and Monster's first litter.

Maddie has retired from having more puppies, as she lives with Annette and Jeremy, but she still comes to visit and stay with us during the Ohio Northern Women's Soccer and Softball games.  Maddie now has a friend, Magic, a puppy from Foxy and Rocket's litter in 2002.

We have owned labrador retrievers for almost 30 years and we don't believe that a finer breed of dog exists.  Hunt-N-Dogs-Estates is a small kennel and our goal is to produce quality hunting pups the average person can afford.  The price you will pay for a good pup is not nearly as much as you will invest in the dog throughout the life span of 10-15 years.  Our dogs come from great lineage and their potential is limited only by our own lack of knowledge, training ability, and time.

Good Hunting and Preserve Our Wildlife Resources!
